Eusebio Flores Silva was born in 1920, in Santiago. He studied at the Liceo Manuel Barros Borgoño, so later he went to study at the Universidad de Chile, the InstitutoPedagogico where title of Professor of History and Geography, one of his mentors Naturalist and founder of the school of geography Don Humberto Fuenzalida, who helped him with his later studies, becoming a professor at the school of geography, Universidad de Chile, where he served until the military coup of 1973, he was exonerated of the university and eradicated in Costa Rica in 1975 where he taught at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica until returned Chile and democracy. He returned to teach at the Universidad Metropolitana de la Ciencia de la Educacion (UMCE, Ex-Instituto Pedagogico) until his retirement in 2008. The professor in July 2011 received the highest distinction of the Geography of Latin America: The Milton Santos 2011 award, the highest distinction of the discipline at the regional level and named the greatest exponent of Contemporary Geography South America. In this award is the fact that in 2007 received from the State of Chile and the Order of Cultural Gabriela Mistral Teacher Merit in the Grade of Knight by his educational career in domestic and foreign colleges and universities, in addition to its contribution to education of Geography.

He is an academic and researcher, where has specialized in physical geography but has explored other aspects of Geography, especially the pedagogy of geography. He was participated in one of the first expeditions to the Chilean Antarctic territory. As taught academic Geomorphology, Climatology, Geography and Cartography Mathematics, Geography of Chile. He was director and editor of the journal of the Institute of Geography and Department of Geography, Universidad de Chile, Investigaciones Geograficas. It was the first director of the Boletin de Geografia de la UMCE until his retirement in 2008. Founded in Costa Rica in the first Universidad Nacional School of Geography, with this impulse was given to geographical science. La Geografia de Costa Rica, published in 1987 by the EUNED, and that is only a small part of the work performed on Professor Eusebio Costa Rica allowed us back on track this Costa Rican geographical science.
Personally follow the example of the teacher is what motivates this study geography because science gives us an overview of the problems that affect us in our environment and our society in which we implement for attaining criticality solve the problem. Your life is a reflection of consequence in the political and social where our work as geographers must be pro to be a transformative social conditions affect our national and global society with which I am identified with the teacher. I also had the privilege of being his student, and me in Chile will not be another geographer that could reflect or project as an example to follow.
